Summary

Description

We are looking for a Product Manager to guide product priorities and help deliver software solutions that support education-focused users. This role works closely with engineering, customers, and internal partners to translate business needs into clear development direction while balancing timelines, value, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in Agile product delivery, strong communication skills, and the ability to shape releases and roadmap decisions in a customer-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage and continuously refine the product backlog, ensuring work is prioritized according to customer impact, business goals, and delivery readiness.

Turn product needs into well-defined user stories, functional requirements, and measurable acceptance criteria for development teams.

Partner with engineering leadership to prepare for sprint activities, contribute to reviews and retrospectives, and help keep delivery aligned with product objectives.

Support release planning and roadmap development by organizing upcoming priorities, identifying dependencies, and communicating changes to stakeholders.

Engage directly with customers and internal teams to gather feedback, clarify needs, and balance competing requests across multiple stakeholder groups.

Monitor issues, enhancement requests, and support trends through ticketing and tracking systems to inform prioritization and product decisions.

Contribute to modernization initiatives by helping plan feature delivery for customers moving from legacy applications to newer cloud-based platforms.

Work within Agile development tools and processes to maintain visibility into progress, risks, and upcoming work across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in product management within a software development environment.
Demonstrated success managing backlogs, defining requirements, and writing acceptance criteria for technical teams.
Practical experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, including participation in sprint preparation, reviews, and retrospectives.
Proficiency with issue tracking platforms such as Jira or a comparable system, along with experience using help desk or ticketing tools.
Ability to work with customer-facing products and navigate competing priorities from users, business partners, and delivery teams.
Experience supporting release planning and product roadmap activities for software products.
Background in K-12 education technology is strongly preferred, especially with assessment, staff evaluation, student information, or report card platforms.
Exposure to cloud modernization efforts and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is preferred.
