Are you a strategic supply chain leader with a deep understanding of international trade and fleet operations? We are seeking a dynamic Director of Logistics to spearhead our logistics division and lead a dedicated team of professionals.
In this pivotal role, you will own the end-to-end logistics strategy, from managing a private fleet and negotiating global ocean freight contracts to ensuring rigorous compliance within our Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations. responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and mentor a 9-person logistics team, fostering a culture of excellence and establishing high-performance standards.
- Transportation & Freight Management: Oversee all inbound/outbound international and domestic freight. Direct the annual ocean freight RFQ process, negotiate carrier contracts, and provide weekly freight rate projections and market analysis to senior leadership.
- FTZ & Regulatory Compliance: Provide strategic oversight of Free Trade Zone (FTZ) processes. Direct the FTZ Manager, maintain internal audit readiness, and ensure 100% accuracy in reporting to Customs and Border Protection.
- Fleet Oversight: Direct the scheduling and optimization of an internal fleet consisting of 4 trucks/drivers and a diverse inventory of chassis, trailers, and flatbeds to ensure timely regional distribution.
- Vendor Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for carriers, customs brokers, and third-party providers, holding partners accountable through rigorous KPI management.
- Process Excellence: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to enhance on-time delivery, reduce costs, and streamline documentation.
qualifications:
- 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain and logistics management.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience working with Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and government/customs agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (equivalent professional experience considered).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data modeling, pivots, complex formulas) for freight analysis and reporting.
- A proven track record of managing and developing diverse teams.
- Experience managing a private truck fleet and internal drivers. - Nice to have
