Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of enterprise data products supporting Retail Sales, Transaction Processing, and Analytics platforms. This role is ideal for a data-savvy Product Manager with expertise in data platforms, ETL pipelines, enterprise data products, and customer migration initiatives.

The successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders, engineering teams, architects, data analysts, and customer success teams to modernize legacy transaction data products while driving adoption of a next-generation Retail Sales Data Platform. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and product ownership skills are essential.



Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the product roadmap for enterprise data products supporting Retail Sales and Transaction Processing.
  • Define product vision, business objectives, and success metrics aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of data products from discovery through delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize product backlog based on customer needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive product adoption and customer satisfaction through continuous feedback and product enhancements.



Enterprise Data Products

  • Manage enterprise data products supporting transaction logs, sales reporting, customer analytics, and operational reporting.
  • Oversee the modernization of legacy data products into scalable cloud-based data platforms.
  • Ensure enterprise data products meet performance, reliability, scalability, and governance standards.
  • Define data quality expectations, business rules, and service-level objectives (SLOs) for data products.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to improve usability, discoverability, and accessibility of enterprise data assets.



ETL & Data Platform Management

  • Work closely with Data Engineers to design and prioritize ETL/ELT pipeline enhancements.
  • Manage product requirements for enterprise data ingestion, transformation, validation, and publishing processes.
  • Understand modern cloud data platforms, Lakehouse architecture, Data Lakes, and enterprise data warehouses.
  • Review impacts of schema changes, upstream dependencies, and downstream data consumers.
  • Coordinate releases of ETL pipelines and enterprise data products with engineering teams.
  • Support migration from legacy transaction processing systems to modern cloud-native platforms.



Legacy Platform Support & Customer Migration

  • Drive ongoing support and lifecycle management of legacy transaction log systems and ETL-based data products.
  • Partner with customers to define migration strategies from legacy platforms to modern Retail Sales Data Platforms.
  • Identify migration risks, dependencies, and data quality considerations.
  • Coordinate migration planning, customer onboarding, and change management activities.
  • Track migration progress and ensure minimal business disruption during platform transitions.
  • Work closely with implementation teams to resolve customer issues during migration.



Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, engineering teams, customers, and executive leadership.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to prioritize product features and resolve competing priorities.
  • Communicate product roadmap, release plans, risks, and status updates to stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Product, Engineering, Data Architecture, Business Operations, and Customer Success teams.
  • Gather customer feedback and incorporate insights into future product enhancements.



Agile Product Management

  • Own and maintain the product backlog in Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Write detailed Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Engineering Managers to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Define KPIs and product success metrics for continuous improvement.



Data Governance & Quality

  • Ensure enterprise data products comply with data governance policies and security standards.
  • Define business rules, metadata standards, and data lineage requirements.
  • Partner with Data Governance teams to improve data quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Support master data management (MDM) and reference data initiatives.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of Product Management, Business Analysis, or Data Product Management experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise data products and data platform initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration concepts.
  • Experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Experience delivering products using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
