Summary

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior Engineer for an on-site position with a 36+ month contract located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

This role will support ongoing biological processes by updating, maintaining, and improving DeltaV automation systems, and providing critical site support. The successful candidate must exhibit sound analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, exemplary communication and collaboration, and operational excellence. This is a 99%+ on-site position with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8am - 5:00pm, and includes an on-call rotation for after-hours support approximately once every four weeks.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain process control automation solutions utilizing DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS), Rockwell Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems (SCADA)
  • Lead and support functional area projects focused on improving process equipment, utilities, and facilities, including large capital projects to integrate new drug substance manufacturing technologies
  • Lead and support technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting on process control issues related to plant operations
  • Lead and support new product introductions (NPI) or new technology introductions by performing automation engineering assessments and implementing system configuration changes
  • Provide day-to-day operational support, including 24x7 on-call rotation, troubleshooting for manufacturing operations, and system administration
  • Manage preventative and corrective maintenance for automation systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on safety, productivity, and reliability

Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree; OR Master's degree and 2 years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience; OR Associate's degree and 8 years of experience; OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of Delta V, Rockwell PLCs, and automation communication protocols
  • Working experience with GMP manufacturing
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a broad audience

Desired skills:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or Biotech Engineering
  • Extensive background in programming, design, installation and lifecycle management of manufacturing process controls, automation and field instrumentation
  • Direct knowledge of Automation design and experience in process control engineering and troubleshooting with GMP biopharmaceutical production facility equipment/systems
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvements related to Drug Substance Plant Operations
  • 5+ years combined experience with Emerson Delta-V DCS system and Rockwell Automation SCADA and PLC Platform
  • Experience with Electronic Batch Reporting Systems design and implementation
  • Experience with Capital Project Lifecycle Management
  • Ability to perform independently in a self-directed, team-based culture

Pay range: up to $50.45 per hour
