Contract Length: 6-12 months (possible conversion)

Pay Rate: $69 - $74
Top Requirements:

Senior-level hands-on Python development and automation experience

Strong experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines (Infrastructure as Code)

Deep expertise with Palo Alto, Fortinet firewalls, and proxy technologies (Broadcom Cloud Proxy)

Plusses:

• Experience with AI-assisted engineering or automation workflows
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Temporal, ORCA)
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus)

Job Summary:

In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Information Security Engineering. You will analyze and resolve complex, multi-faceted challenges related to network security automation and contribute to transforming legacy firewall, proxy, and network access control systems into a modern, automated Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architecture. This role requires a highly skilled, hands-on engineer capable of delivering large-scale automation outcomes in a complex enterprise environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a unified ZTNA architecture across firewall and proxy environments
• Automate lifecycle management (Day 0/1/2 operations) for firewall, proxy, and NAC systems
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Develop automation workflows using Python and Ansible
• Implement orchestration frameworks using Temporal/ORCA or similar tools
• Integrate systems such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Broadcom Cloud Proxy into automation pipelines
• Extend Nautobot as a source of truth for network topology, IPAM, and configurations
• Develop APIs (Apigee) to expose automation capabilities
• Implement observability and monitoring using Grafana and/or Prometheus
• Collaborate across engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to drive adoption of automation solutions
• Deliver documentation and training to support long-term sustainability
