Key Responsibilities

- Analyze how certificates are deployed across web servers, application servers, reverse proxies, and load balancers to establish standardized delivery patterns.
- Automate the installation of certificate and private key material to target destinations using command integration and programming interfaces.
- Design and implement safe service-reload patterns to activate updated certificates without causing application downtime.
- Validate successful certificate replacement, correct certificate chains, and proper socket negotiation after deployment.
- Establish automated rollback and failure-handling procedures to mitigate risk during automated rotations.
- Investigate network endpoints to identify TLS termination technologies and map certificate dependencies.
- Collaborate with internal infrastructure and application teams, facilitating key technical discussions to drive adoption of automated practices.
Required Qualifications

Experience: Seven to ten years of systems engineering experience is required, with a minimum of five years dedicated to public key infrastructure, certificate authority integrations, and certificate management systems.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in F5 BIG-IP certificate rotation and SSL profile management is required. Practical experience with automation tools, APIs, infrastructure-as-code concepts, and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Shell is required. Solid understanding of web and application server infrastructure, including Microsoft IIS, NGINX, Apache, and container platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift, is required. Comprehensive knowledge of X.509 certificate formats, certificate chains, trust stores, and TLS handshake analysis is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience implementing Akeyless Certificate Lifecycle Management and Gateway components.
- Proven track record of migrating large organizations from manual certificate renewals to automated systems.
