Job Title: Sr. Business Analyst / SME – Retail Domain

Location: Chicago, IL 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst / Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong experience in the Retail domain. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze requirements, improve processes, and deliver scalable retail solutions across merchandising, supply chain, and digital commerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.

Act as a Retail SME, providing domain expertise across retail operations.

Work with stakeholders to define business processes, workflows, and use cases.

Translate business requirements into BRDs, FRDs, and user stories.

Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement discussions.

Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure successful implementation.

Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and validate solutions against requirements.

Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.

Create reports, dashboards, and business insights for decision-making.

Required Skills & Experience:

12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.

Strong Retail domain expertise (mandatory).

Hands-on experience in retail functions such as:

Merchandising

Inventory Management

Supply Chain

Pricing & Promotions

Point of Sale (POS)

E-commerce / Omnichannel

Experience with retail systems (POS, OMS, ERP, CRM).

Strong documentation skills (BRD, FRD, user stories).

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

Preferred Skills:

Experience with data tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.

Knowledge of retail analytics and reporting.

Exposure to digital commerce platforms.

Certifications like CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile/Scrum.
