Job Description -

Role: Confluent Kafka Lead/Architect

Location: Chicago, IL - Onsite

Note: This will be deliver an onsite series of workshops focused on Confluent platform as it relates to sizing, monitoring, day 2 operations, moving from replicator to cluster linking

Job Details

Design, develop, and maintain Kafka producers and consumers for real-time data streaming.

Build high-performance event-driven systems integrating Kafka with microservices or external systems.

Implement integrations using Kafka Connect, REST APIs, databases, and external data sources.

Create reusable streaming components using Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, or stream processing frameworks (optional but common).

Set up, configure, and manage Kafka clusters (on-premise or Confluent Cloud).

Monitor cluster health, performance, and handle tuning for throughput/latency.

Implement data governance, security policies (RBAC, ACLs, TLS/SASL), and compliance.

Technical Skills

Scripting skills in Python or similar languages

Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments

Understanding of Kafka internals (brokers, topics, partitions, replication, offsets)
