Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Delta Lake, and big data technologies such as Spark, PySpark, Python, and Hadoop. You will be responsible for building robust data pipelines, implementing modern data architectures, and ensuring high data quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
Build and optimize data processing workflows using Azure Databricks.
Implement data lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake.
Develop big data solutions using Apache Spark, PySpark, and Hadoop ecosystems.
Write efficient and reusable code in Python.
Design and maintain data models for analytics and reporting.
Optimize performance of Spark jobs and large-scale distributed systems.
Implement data governance, security, and best practices in Azure.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in data pipelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
10+ years of experience in data engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Azure Databricks
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Delta Lake
Apache Spark / PySpark
Python
Hadoop ecosystem
Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Spark jobs.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in Azure
Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good to Have
Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
Knowledge of streaming technologies (Kafka, Event Hub).
Experience with Power BI or other BI tools.
Azure certifications (DP-203 preferred).
Exposure to data governance tools and frameworks.
