Job Title: Staff User Experience Designer
Location: Santa Clara, CA - Remote
Duration: 6+ Months
Job Description
We're looking for a senior User Experience Designer who can own projects end-to-end and drive design initiatives forward. You'll be embedded with product teams building AI-powered tools and customer support experiences, translating complex requirements into clear, usable solutions. This isn't a task-completion role you'll be expected to lead with your experience, influence stakeholders, and shape product direction through design.
What You'll Do
End-to-End Design Ownership: Take projects from problem definition through delivery. Frame the design challenge, explore solutions, build and test prototypes, refine based on feedback, and partner with engineering through implementation. You own the design quality and user experience outcomes for your work.
Prototyping & Concept Development: Create prototypes at varying levels of fidelity to communicate ideas, test assumptions, and align stakeholders. Use prototyping as a thinking tool to explore possibilities and make abstract concepts tangible, especially for emerging AI capabilities and conversational interfaces.
Stakeholder Influence: Articulate design rationale clearly and advocate for user needs with product managers, engineers, and leadership. Navigate competing priorities, build consensus, and make the case for design decisions that improve outcomes. Push back constructively when needed.
AI & Customer Support Focus: Work closely with teams building AI tools and customer support solutions. Design for emerging interaction patterns conversational interfaces, agent-assisted workflows, proactive automation where traditional screen-based paradigms don't always apply.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with product managers to define scope and priorities, with engineers to ensure feasibility, and with other designers to maintain consistency. Bring teams along through the design process rather than delivering finished artifacts in isolation.
