Desktop Support TechnicianPosition SummaryThe Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, deployment, and documentation of end-user technology and IT equipment across facility locations and construction-related projects. This role serves as the hands-on resource responsible for receiving, staging, implementing, and supporting technology devices while collaborating with technical teams, operational stakeholders, and project personnel to ensure successful deployments.
This position focuses on execution, asset management, hardware installation, device readiness, and user support activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevice Deployment & Installation- Receive, stage, inventory, and deploy IT equipment for new site openings, renovations, relocations, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Install, configure, and support desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, phones, wireless devices, and other end-user technology.
- Set up and connect equipment in office, operational, and shared work environments.
- Verify device connectivity and functionality.
- Configure workstations and peripheral devices according to established standards.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to ensure equipment is fully operational prior to deployment completion.
Inventory & Asset Management- Coordinate receiving and tracking of incoming technology equipment.
- Verify asset information, serial numbers, and inventory accuracy.
- Transport equipment to designated installation locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Track assets and report discrepancies when identified.
Documentation & System Updates- Update asset management and service management systems.
- Document device assignments, locations, configurations, and deployment status.
- Maintain records of installed equipment and connected devices.
- Complete deployment checklists and supporting project documentation.
Infrastructure & Deployment Support- Perform cable management and workstation organization.
- Verify physical connectivity of deployed equipment.
- Assist with equipment installation in technology rooms and communications spaces.
- Support infrastructure deployment activities under the direction of technical engineering teams.
Project Deployment Support- Collaborate with technical teams, project stakeholders, operations personnel, supply chain partners, and construction teams during deployment activities.
- Support new construction, renovation, relocation, and expansion projects.
- Participate in site readiness assessments and deployment planning efforts.
- Meet established deployment schedules and implementation deadlines.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience deploying, installing, or supporting end-user technology.
- Experience deploying desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and related hardware.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including connectivity and network access.
- Experience with inventory management and asset tracking processes.
- Ability to lift and move technology equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in a healthcare or highly regulated environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale technology deployments, site openings, or facility projects.
- Familiarity with IT service management and asset tracking platforms.
- Experience with device staging, imaging, and asset tagging processes.
- Knowledge of structured cabling and cable management best practices.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
