Job Details

Genesis10 is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a permanent position with a financial services client located in Milwaukee, WI. This is a hybrid opportunity.

Summary:

Genesis10 is seeking a Cloud Engineer to lead and automate a large, complex cloud-based computing environment. This role is responsible for driving cloud automation, managing highly available environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and providing technical leadership across the organization. The ideal candidate is passionate about emerging technologies, skilled in mission-critical cloud engineering, and committed to operational excellence.

Pay Rate: up to $180k Salary with a %15 bonus

Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, implement, and manage automated workflows for provisioning and maintaining a highly available cloud environment using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Develop and maintain a library of deployable, tested, and documented automation scripts, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage DevOps development activities, including work involving Docker, Kafka, and container management technologies.
  • Lead cloud environment build-outs, software installations, maintenance, patches, fixes, upgrades, and end-of-life planning.
  • Ensure reliability and adherence to SLAs for services within the team's scope.
  • Assess and forecast capacity needs within the cloud platform.
  • Implement and manage initiatives with full accountability for security and compliance requirements.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and end-of-life plans.
  • Provide timely communication to senior management regarding project or operational issues.
  • Participate in production changes during maintenance windows and support an on-call rotation.
  • Maintain team work-life balance while fostering trust, respect, and high performance.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for technical support issues.
  • Implement rotational support schedules for after-hours and weekend work.
  • Manage project and daily task prioritization, ensuring deadlines are met with high-quality output.
  • Address audit and regulatory findings with corrective action plans.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, procedures, and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Strong consultative, communication, analytical, and teamwork skills; ability to work with distributed teams across the U.S.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure design and components including servers, operating systems, networks, and storage.
  • Experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining 24/7 mission-critical environments.
  • Experience working within defined production change control processes.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong hands-on scripting/development experience with Python, Ruby, Go, Java, JavaScript, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Kafka, GitHub, OpenShift, and configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
  • IaaS, Infrastructure as Code, AWS, Azure, and cloud-related enterprise technologies.Experience with

Certifications:
  • Required: AWS Solutions Architect Associate or higher strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: Azure or Google Cloud certifications.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of IT experience in installation, operations, administration, and maintenance of cloud systems or virtualized servers.
  • Experience in financial services or similarly regulated environments is preferred.
