Role Name - ISG Booking Model Audit Tester

ROLE_DESCRIPTION -

Audit area: Institutional Securities trade booking and Treasury impact

Position Summary

The organization is seeking a Capital Markets Audit Tester to support an audit of the Institutional Securities Group booking model. The booking model determines how transactions are recorded across legal entities, trading books, desks, products, general ledger accounts, risk systems, Treasury reporting, and regulatory reporting.

The tester will perform substantive transaction testing and outcome-based analysis to determine whether transactions are booked to the appropriate legal entity, product, desk, and accounting classification and whether the resulting Treasury, P&L, balance sheet, and reporting outcomes are reasonable.

Key Responsibilities

Understand the ISG booking model, applicable products, booking locations, legal entities, and downstream reporting flows.

Review booking-model governance, ownership, policies, standards, and approval requirements.

Evaluate documented booking rules and determine whether they are aligned with approved business and legal-entity structures.

Select a risk-based sample of transactions across relevant products, desks, booking entities, and jurisdictions.

Validate key trade economics and booking attributes.

Confirm that transactions were assigned to the appropriate:

o Legal entity

o Trading desk and book

o Product hierarchy

o Accounting treatment

o General ledger account

o Funding and liquidity classification

Trace transactions from front-office capture through operations, risk, product control, Treasury, general ledger, and reporting systems.

Review manual booking overrides, exceptions, late bookings, amendments, and failed transactions.

Assess exception monitoring and escalation processes.

Evaluate change-management controls over booking rules and system configurations.

Perform outcome-based analysis to identify unusual changes in P&L, funding, liquidity, balance sheet usage, or legal-entity exposures.

Determine whether anomalous outcomes indicate booking defects, mapping errors, or ineffective controls.

Assess the impact of identified errors on financial, Treasury, capital, liquidity, and regulatory reporting.

Document complete audit workpapers and communicate findings to Internal Audit, Treasury, Product Control, Operations, and Technology stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Four or more years of experience in capital markets internal audit, trade operations, product control, Treasury audit, market risk, or Finance controls.

Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and transaction booking.

Knowledge of legal-entity booking, product classification, P&L attribution, and trade-to-ledger processing.

Experience conducting substantive transaction testing.

Strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills.

Ability to trace transactions across multiple systems and reporting layers.

Strong written communication and audit-documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

ISG or institutional securities product knowledge.

Experience with one or more of the following:

o Fixed income

o Foreign exchange

o Interest-rate derivatives

o Credit derivatives

o Equity derivatives

o Repos

o Securities lending

o Structured products

Familiarity with Murex, Calypso, Broadridge, Summit, Sophis, or comparable trading platforms.

Experience evaluating Treasury, liquidity, and legal-entity impacts of capital markets transactions.

CIA, CPA, CFA, FRM, CA, or comparable certification.
