The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on manufacturing floor support, developing and optimizing SMT and inspection processes, and serving as a key technical interface between customers, engineering, and manufacturing. This role plays a critical part in driving process efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in a high-mix electronics manufacturing environment.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day process engineering support to manufacturing operations, ensuring stable, efficient, and repeatable SMT processes
  • Generate, debug, and optimize programs for SMT placement, stencil printing, SPI, and AOI equipment
  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing work instructions, process flows, and routing documentation
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers, supporting NPI, production issues, and ongoing process improvements
  • Interpret and apply manufacturing standards and inspection requirements into clear, effective work instructions
  • Provide DFM feedback to customers and internal teams to improve manufacturability and reduce defects
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve product quality, yield, and cycle time for customer assemblies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Customers to resolve process issues
  • Support component recognition, inspection processes, and manufacturing documentation accuracy

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools and manufacturing systems
  • Solid understanding of SMT process flows, process operation codes, manufacturing and inspection processes
  • Experience interpreting manufacturing standards and incorporating them into production documentation
  • Strong programming and troubleshooting skills related to SMT and AOI equipment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and customer groups
  • Working knowledge of component recognition and PCB assembly requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAM and CAD software
  • Background in high-mix, low-to-mid volume electronics manufacturing environments

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Electronics Contract Manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001
  • U.S. Citizenship required
