Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Electromechanical Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Job Description: Create and execute verification and validation test plans for mechanical and electrical components in SE laboratories (e.g., current interruption tests, overload, mechanical/ electrical endurance, high-current withstands, temperature-rise, environmental, vibration/shock, thermal calibration, and magnetic calibration tests). Perform engineering analysis on circuit breaker products by interpreting test results on Thermal, Electromagnetic, Dynamical and Structural, to ensure the adequate performance, quality, and reliability. Ensure compliance with industry standards (UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, etc.) and measure performance under precise laboratory conditions. Synthesize data into technical reports to effectively convey summary and conclusions

to audience. Apply methodical problem-solving techniques and tools to solve problems. Lead and execute Circuit Breaker projects to optimize circuit breaker product robustness, technical productivity (cost reduction), and innovative solutions to evolve legacy and existing circuit breaker products. Coordinate engineering scheduling, planning, safety reviews and communicate project status to internal stakeholders. Execute assigned product design changes for Schneider Electric circuit breaker products. Design offers from technical specifications to meet customer values expectations and quality goals with respect to supply chains constraints. Audit the manufacturing facilities to help ensure circuit breakers comply with applicable regulatory standards. Work collaboratively on cross-functional teams to address quality, performance, or productivity objectives. Coordinate with Quality Team to support manufacturing audits and Engineering Team to ensure appropriate process controls, CPKs, and compliance with given drawing specifications. Provide mentoring, instructions, and assistance to other engineers or functions. Contribute to development of user documentation such as instruction bulletins, safety labels, and product markings. Remote eligible up to 1 day/wk. 30% travel required (20% international, 10% domestic) to audit employer manufacturing facilities.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Three (3) years of experience in electromechanical design of electrical distribution products and low voltage circuit breakers, or closely related occupation. Employer will accept pre- or post- degree experience including pre-Bachelor's degree. Academic background, internship, or work experience to include: Using advanced Product Testing and Evaluation Methods to include: UL, CSA, NOM, IEC, CCC, and ANSI; Methodical problem-solving techniques and tools to include: 5 Whys, and Fishbone Diagrams; Completing product design changes (including drawings and BOMs) and design markups according to given technical specifications; 2D and 3D CAD systems (including CREO) for drafting and modeling needs; Designing Circuit Breakers including Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs); and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) to include: Ex, Structural, Thermal, or Kinematics.
