Job- Title- Mainframe Developer

Position Description

The Computer Programmer develops, tests, and maintains applications supporting client business operations. The role involves working with business and technical stakeholders throughout the system development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support, to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications and programming solutions.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into application designs, technical specifications, and programming solutions.
• Prepare and maintain program documentation, operating procedures, technical specifications, and user support materials.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, production issues, and system performance problems, including on-call support as needed.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business users to identify improvements, support system enhancements, and ensure successful delivery of technology solutions.

General Experience

• At least eight (8) years of programming experience in software development or maintenance.

Specialized Experience

• At least five (5) years of experience in IT systems analysis and programming.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting a state Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
• Five (5) years of experience in IBM z/OS mainframe application development and support.
• Five (5) years of proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, ISPF, and TSO.
• Experience with debugging and performance tools such as Xpeditor, File-AID, and QMF.
• Experience with Information Builders FOCUS.
