Cable Technician I - Large Data Center Project (Barker, NY)Location: Barker, NY
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-5:45 PM (expected to ramp to 5x10 schedule)
OverviewWe are seeking motivated
Entry-Level Cable Technicians or individuals coming from a
low-voltage trade school who are looking to grow in the cabling and communications industry. This is a major multi-year data center buildout with significant opportunities for long-term career advancement across multiple technical departments.
Top Skills & QualificationsRequired Skills- Entry-level candidates welcome; low-voltage trade school experience is a plus.
- Reliable transportation to the project site in Barker, NY.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Possess or be able to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
- Must possess and be proficient with the following basic tools:
- Standard & Phillips screwdrivers
- Drywall saw
- Torpedo level
- Tape measure
- Snips (with belt sheath)
- Needle-nose and channel-lock pliers
- Hammer
- Cable stripper
- Flashlight
- Work gloves
Primary Responsibilities- Pull low-voltage cabling throughout the facility.
- Assist Level II Technicians as needed.
- Run and stage materials.
- Safely operate hand and power tools.
- Climb ladders and access elevated work areas.
- Install:
- Cable tray, wireway, bus duct
- Switches, receptacles, and various devices
- Build and organize telecom closets, including:
- Backboards
- Racks
- Patch panels
- Fiber optic hardware
- Cross-connects
- Grounding systems
- Complete IDC terminations (110/66 blocks and patch panels).
- Support wire pulling and conduit installation activities.
- Operate equipment requiring two-hand use (cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, etc.).

Position PurposeThis role supports a large-scale data center construction effort. Technicians will assist with cabling, installation, and infrastructure work required for communications, security, and network systems.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barker, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
