Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As an Application Architect, you will play a key role in modernizing the electronic trading capabilities of front-office trading systems. This role requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technology partners globally to deliver high-quality, scalable full-stack solutions.
Responsibilities: - Lead full-stack development with a focus on Java, ReactJS/TypeScript, Python, Oracle, and MongoDB
- Collaborate with regional and global technology teams to deliver strategic initiatives
- Engage with end-users to gather requirements and deliver user-centric solutions
- Drive the strategic UI roadmap and contribute to modernization efforts
- Develop robust, high-performance systems with strong maintainability and supportability
- Partner with compliance, legal, and other cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory alignment
- Provide direct desk support and assist with critical projects impacting the Municipal trading business
Requirements: - 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices
- 5+ years of ReactJS/TypeScript development experience
- Strong Oracle SQL and MongoDB NoSQL expertise
- Experience building front-office trading applications within Fixed Income, Municipal Bonds, or Capital Markets
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of trade capture, order management, and new issue processing workflows
- Strong experience with enterprise tools and technologies such as AMPS messaging, OpenShift, and Quartz
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in strategy development and business analysis
- Industry experience in Markets Front-Office Trading environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
Desired skills: - Experience in Capital Markets / Trading platforms (Equities, Fixed Income, or regulatory-driven systems)
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux, Splunk, Dynatrace/AppDynamics, Kafka, Redis, or Elasticsearch
- Experience with platform modernization (e.g., legacy upgrades, cloud adoption)
- Dependency management across applications and infrastructure
- Exposure to AI-enabled tools for planning, reporting, or requirements analysis
- Ability to identify process improvements, standardize delivery practices, and reduce operational friction
Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
