Job Role: Cloud Network & Security Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Network & Security Engineer to join a global consultancy team supporting a Fortune 50 enterprise client. This role is dedicated to modernizing and supporting a massive hub-and-spoke multi-cloud network infrastructure, with a heavy emphasis on firewalls, load balancers, and secure connectivity across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
As a member of the Enterprise Cloud Network & Security Team, you will bridge the gap between traditional on-premise hardware and modern public cloud environments. This position requires a deeply hands-on engineer who can execute complex configurations and troubleshooting tasks independently within one of the world's largest enterprise IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Hybrid & Cloud Operations: Implement, maintain, and support next-generation cloud and hybrid firewalls (cloud-native and vendor-based) and application delivery/load balancer solutions.
- Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot multi-cloud network security infrastructure including:
- Firewalls: Palo Alto, Check Point, and cloud-native solutions.
- Load Balancers: F5 and cloud-native variants.
- Connectivity: Hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect) and secure site-to-site solutions.
- Security Boundary Management: Secure cloud boundaries and manage Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs/VNets) across diverse architectures.
- Automation: Support automation of firewall and network security operations through scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Collaboration: Integrate automation workflows with enterprise DevOps toolsets (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform, CloudFormation) and collaborate across security and application teams.
- Incident Response: Participate in troubleshooting and on-call rotations for critical network security services.
Required Qualifications
- Hybrid Networking Expertise: Strong understanding of legacy, hardware-based networking and how these systems interface with public cloud environments.
- Public Cloud Proficiency: "Fresh," current, and hands-on knowledge of at least one major provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). Theoretical understanding is insufficient; practical execution is key.
- Experience: 3+ years in network and security engineering roles, with at least 1+ years of dedicated, hands-on cloud experience.
- Technical Skills: * Direct experience with firewall implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with load balancer support (cloud-native or F5).
- Solid grasp of VPC/VNet design, routing, and hybrid connectivity.
- Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) and at least one active Cloud Certification.
- Communication: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) for global team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-Cloud Mastery: Multiple certifications across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Advanced Security Tools: Hands-on experience with Palo Alto (Panorama, Prisma) or Check Point firewalls.
- Advanced Load Balancing: Expertise in F5 LTM/GTM and cloud-native balancers (Azure AGW, AWS ALB/NLB, Google Cloud Platform LB).
- Automation Tooling: Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and REST APIs.
- IaC Frameworks: Experience with Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Architectural Knowledge: Familiarity with large-scale, hub-and-spoke multi-cloud architectures and DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.
