Role Summary

The Principal Android Engineer will play a key role in overseeing the entire development lifecycle, particularly in identifying, diagnosing, and fixing bugs that arise during production. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality solutions, ensuring the stability and efficiency of critical mobile platforms.



Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the end-to-end mobile development process, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards

  • Analyse and resolve complex bugs identified in live applications, implementing sustainable fixes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise app performance and stability

  • Drive improvements in code quality, testing, and deployment pipelines

  • Mentor junior team members, sharing expertise in Android and Kotlin development

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to architecture, bug fixes, and ongoing enhancements



Essential Skills & Experience



  • Proven experience designing and implementing applications using clean architecture principles

  • Deep knowledge of Android development, including the Kotlin language and Android SDK

  • Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production bugs

  • Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle, from concept to delivery

  • Experience with modern development tools and continuous integration systems

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail



Desirable Skills & Experience



  • Prior experience in leading Android development teams or projects

  • Familiarity with automated testing and code review processes

  • Understanding of backend integrations and APIs

  • Experience working within a fast-paced, agile environment
