Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner for a leading banking client in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite presence in Charlotte as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong banking domain experience and a proven ability to work across business and technology teams to define product priorities, manage the product backlog, and drive successful delivery of technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and manage the product backlog, including features, enhancements, technical requirements, and defects.
• Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, priorities, and expected business outcomes.
• Translate business requirements into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with banking stakeholders to understand business processes, customer needs, and operational requirements.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, QA, UX, data, and business teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead and participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, story grooming, demos, and Agile ceremonies.
• Prioritize work based on business value, customer impact, risk, dependencies, and technical considerations.
• Ensure development teams have clear and actionable requirements.
• Review completed functionality and provide acceptance based on defined acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate dependencies across multiple business and technology teams.
• Track delivery milestones, risks, issues, and product performance.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, security, and governance teams to meet banking standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support releases, implementation planning, and post-production validation.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of overall experience in product management, technology, business analysis, or related roles.
• 4+ years of Product Owner experience in an Agile environment.
• Strong experience within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of banking products, operations, and technology platforms.
• Hands-on experience creating and managing epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience working with cross-functional technology and business teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with large banking organizations.
• Experience in commercial banking, consumer banking, lending, payments, deposits, digital banking, or data platforms.
• Understanding of APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, and modern banking technology.
