Summary

Job Title: Business Analyst – Guidewire PolicyCenter
Location: Preferred: San Antonio, TX or Plano, TX | Strong remote candidates will be considered
Experience: 6–10 Years

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of Business Analyst experience with at least 4–5 years supporting P&C Insurance IT projects.
  • 2–3+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter (implementation, configuration, or upgrade projects).
  • Strong understanding of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance lifecycle, including quoting, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and binding.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements.
  • Expertise in creating BRDs, FRDs, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Process Flows, Use Cases, and Traceability Matrices.  
  • Hands-on experience supporting Guidewire PolicyCenter configurations, including Product Model, Rating, Workflows, and Policy Processing.
  • Ability to review and understand Gosu scripts (coding not required).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, UAT, and defect management.
  • Knowledge of Guidewire Studio, Product Designer, PolicyCenter Data Model, and integration concepts (REST/SOAP APIs, messaging).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and requirements elicitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP).  
  • Exposure to Guidewire BillingCenter and/or ClaimCenter.
  • Knowledge of ISO/ACORD standards.
  • Experience with Personal Lines (Auto/Home) or Commercial Lines (BOP, GL, Workers'' Compensation).
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, and Azure DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements from insurance stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Support PolicyCenter configuration for product modeling, rating, workflows, and policy lifecycle processes.
  • Perform gap analysis and collaborate with technical teams on solution design.
  • Lead UAT planning, test case validation, and defect resolution.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, JAD sessions, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Support integration analysis with Billing, Claims, Document Management, Rating Engines, and third-party systems.
  • Coordinate with business and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery in an Agile environment.
