⚠️ Mandatory Requirements

  • 12+ years of Business Analyst experience.
  • State of Texas Agency experience (2–3+ years) is highly preferred.
  • Candidates with Other State Government Agency experience (3–4+ years) will also be considered.
  • Must be available to work 4 days onsite per week in Austin, TX.
  • Strong experience working on Agile projects and documenting business requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst supporting enterprise IT initiatives.
  • Experience working on technical and emerging technology projects.
  • Working knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and Scrum practices.
  • Strong experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Experience creating and maintaining use cases, business process documentation, and workflow diagrams.
  • Experience performing business process analysis and identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Experience converting business requirements into Themes, Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria following organizational standards.
  • Hands-on experience using Jira to manage product backlogs, user stories, and Agile project activities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers.
  • Experience supporting enterprise application development and implementation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Create Themes, Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria in accordance with Agency standards.
  • Convert existing use cases into actionable Jira user stories.
  • Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Document business workflows and process maps.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, QA teams, and project managers throughout the SDLC.
  • Support the planning, development, testing, and implementation of strategic technology initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

2–3+ years of State of Texas Agency Business Analyst experience.
3–4+ years of Other State Government Agency experience.
✅ Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira.
✅ Strong documentation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
