Network Engineer Consultant

Location: Blythewood, SC

Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite (Candidates must be residents of SC, NC, or GA and willing to relocate within 40 miles of Blythewood at their own expense).

Employment Type: Contract

Interview Mode: Two rounds; candidates must be prepared to attend interviews Onsite.

Travel: Includes travel to various field offices; a valid SC Driver's License is required (State vehicle provided).

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week with potential for on-call weekend/after-hours support for outages.

Infrastructure Management: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot a complex statewide network utilizing Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Citrix NetScaler.

Network Analysis: Perform high-level design, installation, and upgrades of networking products to maintain peak performance.

Security & Compliance: Implement cybersecurity best practices and monitor network performance to ensure efficient communication and compliance.

Documentation: Maintain accurate network diagrams and comprehensive technical documentation.

Remediation: Resolve failures within a complex, voice-integrated infrastructure and identify root causes for recurring problems.

Knowledge Transfer: Provide informal training and technical guidance to NOC team members.

Cisco Expertise: 10+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco administration, firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.

Palo Alto: 5+ years of experience specifically with Palo Alto Firewalls and Palo Alto XDR.

Advanced Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose and remediate issues in complex, large-scale network environments.

Network Design: Deep understanding of core network architecture and infrastructure upgrades.

Certifications: Active CCNA or CCNP is highly preferred.

Monitoring Tools: 10+ years of experience with network tracing and monitoring tools.

Specialized Wireless: 4 years of experience managing wireless networks.

Cloud Integration: 3 years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
