AV Systems Design Engineer
Overview
TEKsystems is seeking an experienced AV Systems Design Engineer to support the design of enterprise-level audiovisual solutions. This role partners closely with Sales and project stakeholders to translate client needs into scalable, high-performance AV systems from concept through documentation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales during early client engagements to gather technical requirements and define solution scope.
• Participate in site surveys, needs assessments, and client presentations.
• Design AV systems supporting Microsoft Teams, Zoom, audio systems, LED video walls, camera switching, and collaboration technologies.
• Ensure designs align with performance, scalability, usability, and budget expectations.
• Produce detailed design documentation including:
  • Equipment lists and BOMs
  • Signal flow diagrams and system schematics
  • Infrastructure and cabling requirements
  • Executive summaries, technical narratives, and cost estimates
• Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and project managers to align technical design with architectural and operational constraints.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in AV system design or engineering.
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, system integration, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• CTS-D and/or CTS-I certification
• Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools
• Background designing AV solutions for corporate or enterprise environments

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Andover, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
