Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-level verification and validation test plans for instruments, accessories, and related systems.
• Own and generate test protocols for Design Verification and Life/Reliability testing.
• Collaborate with design and clinical teams to define test methods aligned with design requirements.
• Execute test protocols including surgical simulation and automated testing using specialized systems.
• Identify, document, and escalate issues or failure modes observed during testing.
• Support failure investigations and root cause analysis with engineering teams.
• Document test results, observations, and conclusions in detailed reports.
• Design and develop test fixtures and supporting tools for verification and reliability testing.
• Identify opportunities to improve test methods through new or enhanced fixture designs.
• Create and maintain fixture documentation using CAD tools and release through documentation systems.
• Translate functional requirements into test acceptance criteria and methodologies.
• Train test technicians on procedures, tools, and testing methods.
• Ensure timely completion of projects and communicate risks or constraints to management.
• Verify availability of test materials, equipment, and test articles.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.

Required Skills And Experience:

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in an engineering or research environment.
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems and performance measurement techniques.
• Experience using test and measurement equipment such as force gauges, calipers, Instron machines, and oscilloscopes.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and testing practices.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical calculations including dimensional analysis.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or similar software.
• Strong documentation skills with familiarity in Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Willingness to work with biological samples including blood, tissue, and organs.
• High level of integrity and adherence to ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or Arduino.
• Experience working with electro-mechanical systems.
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
