Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an IT Integration Engineer Principal, you will serve as a key technical leader responsible for architecting and enhancing enterprise-level applications that directly support clinical and revenue cycle management workflows. You will act as a primary subject matter expert, overseeing the design, implementation, and quality assurance of complex integration solutions. By aligning technical strategies with organizational goals, you will ensure that our EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) ecosystems are robust, scalable, and optimized to meet the evolving needs of our end-users and healthcare business stakeholders.

Every day you will provide high-level technical guidance and oversight to software engineering teams, acting as the ultimate escalation point for complex troubleshooting and incident resolution. You will balance multiple enterprise-scale projects simultaneously, ensuring that all deliverables adhere to strict timelines and budget constraints. Your role will involve constant collaboration with cross-functional teams, authoring enterprise policies and guidelines, and staying at the forefront of emerging healthcare technologies to drive continuous improvement across our integrated platforms.

To be successful in this role, you will possess deep technical expertise in software design and EAI frameworks, coupled with the leadership skills necessary to mentor and develop engineering talent. You will be a strategic thinker who can navigate complex technical landscapes and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization. Success is defined by your ability to lead large-scale integration programs, manage enterprise-level incidents, and foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the integration team.

  • Lead Enterprise Integration Initiatives: Oversee the end-to-end design, implementation, and lifecycle management of large-scale, mission-critical healthcare integration projects.
  • Strategic API Governance: Act as the technical gatekeeper by enforcing "Design-First" principles (OpenAPI/Swagger) and maintaining enterprise-wide standards through automated policies and consistent proxy architecture.
  • Architectural Strategy & Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to advance clinical and revenue cycle management systems, ensuring long-term architectural integrity.
  • Advanced Security & Compliance: Translate complex healthcare regulations (HIPAA/FHIR) into technical guardrails by implementing robust security protocols, including OAuth2, mTLS, and threat protection, within the Apigee layer.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide high-level mentorship to engineering teams, fostering professional growth while ensuring deep subject matter expertise across integrated platforms.
  • Operational Excellence & Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary escalation point for enterprise-level incidents, performing root-cause analysis and managing centralized API catalogs to ensure high-quality documentation and system stability.

Job Requirements

Required
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Bachelors Other in Computer Science, Technology, Medical, or Business discipline
  • or equivalent experience
  • Broad experience with server, infrastructure architecture and application design
  • Leading architectural design of large enterprise initiatives
  • A record of partnering with Clinical and/or Revenue Cycle Management Senior leadership

Preferred
  • Experience working with HL7, HIPAA transactions sets, and EDI engines is highly
