JOB TITLE: Software Dev Engineer IV

DURATION: 9 MONTHS, no potential for extension or conversion
LOCATION: x5 days onsite in Seattle, WA
HOURS: 40hr/wk, Mon-Fri 8a-5p PST, No OT/Holiday
PAY RATE: $72-$80/hr
WHAT IS THIS CONTRACTOR SPECIFICALLY DOING?
- Will help implement an event-driven data retention automation service that ensures team remains compliant with internal data-retention policies across all in-scope data stores.
- This includes building ingestion of deletion signals from upstream systems, scheduling and orchestrating deletion workflows for account, person, and activity records, and executing deletion and redaction across tables and datasets in multiple accounts.
- The work will establish scalable orchestration, retry and failure-handling mechanisms, and end-to-end audit tracking to meet compliance and operational requirements.
- They will partner with dependent teams to validate requirements, integrate with upstream signal sources, and support integration testing through production rollout.
- Deliverables include a production-ready retention automation service with fully implemented deletion workflows, cross-account integrations, and monitoring/alerting to ensure compliance with defined SLAs.
- Provide operational runbooks, dashboards, and on-call guidance to support steady-state operations and incident response.
- Complete end-to-end validation, including integration testing, failure-scenario testing, and compliance verification, and support launch readiness activities to enable a stable production deployment and long-term maintainability.
- Deliver a production-ready service that integrates cleanly with upstream lead-processing and signal sources, with successful end-to-end validation across environments.
- Implement robust lead/person data lifecycle workflows (normalization, dedupe, enrichment, retention/deletion)
- Establish strong integration and canary testing coverage, enabling safe staged rollouts and rapid rollback when needed.
- Build resilient orchestration with clear retry, failure-handling, and observability (dashboards, alarms, audit tracking).
- Provide operational readiness artifacts (runbooks, on-call guidance, monitoring) enabling stable steady-state operations.
- Demonstrate ability to partner cross-functionally and deliver incremental milestones through launch and post-launch stabilization.
MAIN QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of backend or distributed systems engineering experience
- Event-driven distributed systems - Strong experience designing and implementing event-driven workflows using client specific specific tools, including orchestration, retries, and failure handling.
- Lead data lifecycle & governance - Experience processing and managing lead/person data (normalization, deduplication, enrichment, suppression, retention/deletion) at scale across distributed data stores.
- Production-grade backend engineering - Proficiency in Python/Java/TypeScript and infrastructure-as-code to build secure, observable, and scalable services.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent industry experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with cross-account client specific architectures and secure data integrations.
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability (dashboards, alarms, runbooks, on-call readiness).
- Experience with system integration, integration testing, and phased production rollout across distributed services, including implementing changes safely within large-scale, high-reliability systems.
- Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer) are a plus but not required.
SUCCESSFUL BACKGROUNDS:
- Backend or platform engineering roles building marketing, CRM, or lead-management data systems (lead/person/contact pipelines, enrichment, deduplication, suppression, retention).
- Experience owning end-to-end data lifecycle services that process and govern customer or marketing data across multiple storage systems.
- Strong track record implementing system integrations, staged/canary deployments, and production rollouts for high-reliability services.
- Experience working on data-processing or data-quality platforms where correctness, traceability, and operational stability are critical.
- Comfort operating in cross-functional environments with product, data, and partner engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable production solutions.
