Job Title: Snowflake Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Snowflake-native features, data ingestion, performance tuning, and cloud integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Snowflake Development & Architecture

• Design and implement Snowflake data models (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault)

• Optimize performance using micro-partitioning, clustering keys, materialized views, and search optimization

• Develop transformations using Snowpark (Python/SQL/Scala)

• Use Zero-Copy Cloning, Time Travel, and Fail-safe for environment management and recovery

Data Ingestion & Processing

• Build real-time and batch pipelines using Snowpipe, Kafka, Fivetran, Matillion, Informatica, dbt

• Implement CDC using Streams & Tasks

• Integrate Snowflake with cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure ADLS, Google Cloud Platform GCS)

• Process semi-structured data (JSON, Avro, Parquet, ORC, XML) using VARIANT and FLATTEN

Analytics, Governance & Security

• Integrate Snowflake with Power BI, Tableau

• Implement Secure Data Sharing and Snowflake Marketplace solutions

• Enforce security using RBAC, Row Access Policies, Dynamic Data Masking

• Integrate with data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica CDGC)

Performance, Cost & DevOps

• Optimize compute using multi-cluster warehouses, workload isolation, and query tuning

• Implement cost controls (auto-suspend, resource monitors, query profiling)

• Support CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, dbt Cloud

• Collaborate with architects on data mesh / data fabric initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering experience

• 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience

• Strong SQL and Snowflake performance tuning expertise

• Hands-on with Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, Snowpark, Zero-Copy Cloning

• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java

• Experience with AWS (preferred)

• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Matillion, Fivetran, dbt)

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Git, DevOps practices

Preferred Certification

• SnowPro Core Certification
