Project Manager II
The Project Manager II is an Information Technology (IT) position responsible for managing components of highly complex, high-profile projects and/or program initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Digital Delivery and AI-enabled solutions. This role will follow project management methodologies and governance processes to deliver work products on time and within a set budget. The role will also collaborate with the end-user and key stakeholders to provide status updates and gather requirements, with the vendor on their implementation and delivery of contract deliverables, and with the internal IT Team. The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining and managing the timeline for multiple projects. Further, this individual will identify project risks and issues and proactively manage a plan to mitigate and resolve them.
The workers' responsibilities and skills must include:
• Experience driving digital delivery and AI projects from pilot through production, including governance and compliance checkpoints.
• Skilled in preparing and presenting executive-level project communications, project tracking, and stakeholder management.
• Experience with general IT SDLC processes.
• Experience with implementing Enterprise Systems Integration projects.
• Experience with mediating business units that may have conflicting requirements.
• Experience driving systems integration delivery projects from 3rd party vendors to delivery acceptance and project closure.
• Experience with preparing and presenting executive-level project communications, project tracking, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to create and maintain several project artifacts, including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, etc.
• Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Responsible for project scope delivery, adhering to and optimizing schedule, costs, and resources. Projects include client partners and third-party deliverables.
• Acts as the counterpart for the vendor program leader to ensure customer satisfaction and is the escalation point for service delivery activities.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a creative thinker to solve issues.
Must be a hands-on project manager for multiple projects.
Required Skills:
7 Experience in managing all phases of large and complex technical projects.
7 Experience in creating and maintaining various project artifacts, including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, etc.
7 Experience with general IT SDLC processes.
7 Experience in identifying and managing project risks and issues.
7 Skilled in creating and presenting executive-level project communications.
7 Skilled in gathering requirements from business divisions.
7 Skilled in educating business unit staff on standardized processes.
7. Possess strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users, including executive staff.
7 Skilled in facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.
7 Skilled in collaborating with the technical and functional teams to develop the Technical Specification and other documents needed in support of the solution.
5 Experience in implementing Enterprise Systems Integration.
Preferred Skills:
4 Experience with one or more of the state of Texas government agencies
4 PMP and/or CBAP certification is a plus
4 Agile Coach or SCRUM Master is a plus
