Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing database systems to ensure high performance, security, and reliability. This role requires deep expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability solutions.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Multi-Platform Management: Maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases across all environments (Dev, Test, Prod).
Cloud Administration: Provision and monitor database instances across OCI, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Migration & Integration: Design and execute secure data migrations from on premises to cloud environments.
Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot bottlenecks and tune SQL queries, indexes, and schemas for maximum efficiency.
Business Continuity: Implement backup strategies, high-availability solutions, and conduct regular disaster recovery testing.
Security & Compliance: Enforce access controls and encryption to meet NIST, GDPR, and HIPAA standards.
Lifecycle Maintenance: Perform routine installations, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning to support future growth.
Automation: Develop scripts using Python, Shell, PL/SQL, or Ansible to automate monitoring and administrative tasks.
Architecture & Design: Build and review database schemas to ensure data integrity and application alignment.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear technical procedures and provide database health updates to stakeholders.
Operational Support: Execute additional technical duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills:
Expert Technical Tenure: 8+ years of experience managing Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Cloud SQL platforms, specializing in advanced database design and performance engineering.
Data Resilience Mastery: Extensive background in architecting end-to-end backup strategies and executing complex disaster recovery plans.
Complex Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve high-pressure, deep-tier database performance and stability issues.
Strategic Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between technical operations and business objectives, translating complex data insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Tooling & Observability: Expert proficiency in Oracle Enterprise Manager, CloudWatch, and other industry-standard monitoring and management suites.
Architectural Excellence: Strong expertise in schema analysis, data modeling, and developing automation frameworks using Python, Shell, or Ansible.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: Oracle DBA (OCP), PostgreSQL Professional, MySQL DBA Certification.
Experience with cloud-native database solutions (RDS, Aurora, CloudSQL).
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Proven track record of managing and optimizing complex database environments.
Experience with database backup, recovery, and security practices.
Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning and capacity planning.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
