OTA Deployment Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled OTA Deployment Engineer to join our team. This role will be pivotal in supporting the migration of data from legacy systems to modernized OTA platforms, deploying over-the-air (OTA) software updates to customer vehicles, and contributing to the automation and improvement of OTA deployment operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, cloud technologies (preferably Google Cloud Platform), and experience with the automotive industry, particularly related to OTA deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Support the migration of data from customer legacy systems to OTA Modernized ECU Catalogue, SRP, VRP and Vehicle Package Tree.
- Learn and apply customer proprietary processes and tools to deploy Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates to company-owned and consumer vehicles.
- Triage failed OTA deployments and proactively take steps to resolve issues and move them through the deployment process.
- Develop efficient processes and comprehensive process documentation for the customer OTA Operations team.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to ECU Catalogue, SRP, VRP, and Vehicle Package Tree to ensure successful OTA deployment and vehicle software update discovery.

- Collaborate with software testing teams, quality assurance, customer response centers, and dealership service teams to resolve issues and support OTA redeployment efforts.
- Contribute to the requirements gathering and automation of OTA Deployment Operations processes and tools.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated operational support tools to streamline operational tasks.
- Design and develop Modernized OTA applications, including operational dashboards and cloud systems monitoring dashboards and alerts.
- Operationalize existing OTA Modernization products by implementing robust logging, alerts, monitors, dashboards, and utilities.

Requirements:
|
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in software deployment operations.
- Experience as an OTA Deployment Engineer and/or OTA Packaging Engineer.
- Experience with OTA deployments within the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with Customer’s software release management and/or software test processes is a significant plus.
- Proficiency in SQL, Looker Studio, JIRA and similar technologies.
- Strong software engineering skills with a background in 'full stack' SW engineering.
- Experience with Cloud Backend Development & Scaling, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, preferably with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with React.
- Knowledge of Test Driven Development methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with monitoring and triage tools for production applications (e.g., Grafana).
- Experience developing metrics and dashboards for system monitoring.
- Background in Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity and experience utilizing AI tools in software development and operations.
