Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Newark, DE. This is a contract opportunity. The Backend Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable Java-based applications and APIs. This role works within a cross-functional Agile development team to build and maintain enterprise-grade backend services, REST APIs, and batch processing applications. The team collaborates closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and QA Engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Design, build, and support REST/SOAP APIs and integration services
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices
- Collaborate with offshore teams to provide technical guidance and resolve issues
- Troubleshoot application defects and support production incidents
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and estimation activities
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and release activities
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and support artifacts
- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability requirements are met
Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in Java Application Development
- Experience with Object Oriented programming
- Experience with Spring (Framework, Spring Boot, ORM, MVC, Integration, Batch, Services)
- Experience with SOA, REST/SOAP webservices, JSON/XML
- Exposure to cloud technologies and platforms
- Experience with Source Control Tools such as BitBucket/GIT or Subversion (SVN)
- Experience with Maven, Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI), JUnit
- Experience in NoSQL DB Cassandra
- Experience with at least one RDMS such as Oracle or SQL Server
- Experience in Apache Kafka, MQ messaging frameworks
Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
