Electrical Engineer III

Job Summary: The Electrical Engineer III provides expertise and support in a variety of areas including electrical, instrumentation, and controls design, deliverables development, using data from other disciplines to prepare engineering designs, and directing engineers and designers toward completion of bid and construction document packages.

Responsibilities:

Management:
  • Assist Project Manager on major projects.
  • Independently manage projects with a majority electrical scope.
  • Manage and provide technical guidance and oversight to engineers and designers.
  • Define, interpret, and track assigned project budgets, schedules, and scopes.
  • Direct preparation of bid and construction document packages.

Engineering:
  • Oversee, plan, and coordinate all technical aspects of electrical project work.
  • Understand and apply concerns of Safety, Maintenance, Accessibility, Constructability, and Coordination.
  • Direct and select design criteria of electrical power, instrumentation, and controls for a wide range of projects.
  • Perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed development of electrical, instrumentation, and controls system designs.
  • Issue and record drawing submittals and revisions and Request for Information.
  • Check electrical calculations and construction documents prepared by yourself or others for errors, omissions, and adherence to company standards.
  • Prepare specifications and bid packages of electrical, instrumentation, and controls equipment, analyze bids, make procurement recommendations, and perform review of submitted shop drawings.
  • Analyze and design MV and LV power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems.
  • Perform design of control systems including PLC/DCS cabinets, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years' experience in electrical engineering (preferably related to construction or heavy industrial).
  • EIT required with ability to obtain PE within six months of hire; PE preferred.
  • Extensive electrical engineering experience with a broad range of industrial project types.
  • Excellent communications skills with an understanding of teamwork and the requisite ability to coordinate work with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds, ascend industrial structures unaided.
  • U.S. Citizenship preferred; willing to sponsor the right candidate.
  • Valid driver's license.

Location: St. Louis, MO (onsite)

The salary range for this role is $100,000-$140.000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience & certifications.
