SNAPSHOT:

Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Schedule: Onsite in Fort Walton Beach, FL

Comp: 5-8 years experience = 106-115k | 8+ years experience = 125-135k

ITAR Requirement: This position may involve access to export-controlled technical data. Candidates must meet applicable U.S. Person requirements where required by the position.

 

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing supplier quality, developing new suppliers, resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement across the supply base. Works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure materials and components meet quality and customer requirements.

  • Develop and qualify new suppliers and support supplier onboarding.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality metrics, and corrective actions.
  • Investigate supplier quality issues and lead root cause and corrective action efforts.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support internal quality audits.
  • Review supplier processes, documentation, and inspection results.
  • Support quality requirements for machined, sheet metal, electronic, cable, chemical, and other purchased components.
  • Maintain quality records and ensure issues are properly documented and resolved.
  • Use data and SPC methods to identify trends and improve supplier performance.
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve material and production issues.
  • Support continuous improvement and compliance with applicable quality standards.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of supplier quality experience.
  • Experience in the electronics or aerospace industry required.
  • Experience with supplier development, audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SPC and statistical quality methods preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Engineering or related technical degree preferred.
  • PPAP experience is a plus, but not required.
