Job Description
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support IBM's cloud and application delivery initiatives in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and Linux environments.
The candidate will work closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and operations teams to automate deployments, improve application reliability, and support modern cloud-native environments.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment.
Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
Work with cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Monitor applications and infrastructure and troubleshoot production issues.
Implement DevOps and DevSecOps best practices across the software development lifecycle.
Manage source code repositories using Git/GitHub/GitLab.
Support containerized applications using Docker.
Collaborate with development, QA, security, and infrastructure teams on application releases.
Perform root-cause analysis and resolve deployment, infrastructure, and performance issues.
Improve deployment automation, system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift.
Strong experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud.
Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
Hands-on experience with Docker.
Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with Git and source-control management.
Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK.
Preferred Skills
Experience with IBM Cloud and Red Hat OpenShift.
Experience with DevSecOps and security integration within CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of cloud-native and microservices architectures.
Experience with Ansible.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Location Requirement
Candidates must currently be located in the Dallas, TX area. Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Candidates should be able to provide their current Dallas-area location and be available for the required onsite/hybrid schedule.
