Hansen Talent Group is seeking a COBOL developer with in-depth experience supporting Micro Focus Desktop applications, supporting the maintenance and enhancement of COBOL applications and .NET interfaces.
The COBOL developer will be responsible for supporting and enhancement of core business applications utilizing COBOL backends and .NET user-facing interfaces. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience supporting COBOL development using Micro Focus, enterprise compliance and regulatory requirements, and design discussions to enhance application architecture.
Duties:
The COBOL developer will be responsible for supporting and enhancement of core business applications utilizing COBOL backends and .NET user-facing interfaces. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience supporting COBOL development using Micro Focus, enterprise compliance and regulatory requirements, and design discussions to enhance application architecture.
Duties:
- Analyze COBOL systems, business processes, and development workflows to address system modifications and compliance enhancements.
- Serve as lead for all new development efforts, proposing solutions and workflows for COBOL development projects.
- Partner with stakeholders and business system analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications and development workflows.
- Code and test micro focus development and integrations with .NET interfaces based on requirements.
- Provide production support and enhance delivery processes.
- Document development workflows and troubleshooting steps to support production support.
Qualifications:
- Micro Focus COBOL 9+
- Windows based server and desktop environments
- Oracle SQL knowledge
