Hardware Lab Technician

Talent Space, Inc. is looking for a Hardware Lab Technician in Sunnyvale for our Global Networking Client.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing lab equipment when issues arise.
• Coordinating the maintenance and repair of DVT chambers.
• Upgrading and tracking lab infrastructure.
• Maintaining and updating lab processes, policies, and procedures.
• Supporting technicians in the manufacturing Test Engineering lab.
• Assembling, testing, verifying, troubleshooting, and reworking prototypes.
• Assembling, testing, verifying, and troubleshooting test fixtures, cabling, and adapters.
• Performing failure analysis support for contract manufacturers and field organizations.
• Assisting with lab management duties, including installation of systems/assemblies and procurement of lab supplies. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs, with some heavy material lifting required.
• Operating thermal test chambers, loading products under test, monitoring, and supporting users.
• Performing all job functions in adherence to TL9000 practices.
• Providing support to remote partners as needed, with potential domestic/international travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing an engineering lab and lab network.
• Recent experience (5 years) in lab design and power planning.
• Recent experience (3 years) in lab equipment calibration, including budget and purchase orders.
• Recent experience (3 years) in asset tracking, budget planning, and lab processes and policies.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role working with complex electronic assemblies.
• AS in Electronics or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of basic electronics, digital, and analog theory.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for failure analysis of complex circuitry to the component level.
• Excellent solder rework skills, including fine pitch SMT components.
• Proficiency with power and hand tools, including drills and wire crimping tools for pins, connectors, and lugs.
• Proficiency with test and debug equipment, including oscilloscopes, various meters, power supplies, boundary scan tools, component programming software and equipment, and inspection equipment including high magnification microscopes and cameras.
• Well-versed in UNIX, Linux, Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe usage.
• Familiarity with document control, Allegro viewing, schematics, BOMs, and ECOs. Knowledge of Agile is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, balancing workload and priorities while ensuring timely completion of projects on schedule.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to work well with multiple functional groups.
• Telecommunications product experience is a plus.
