We are seeking an experienced Lead Power BI Engineer to leadthe design, development, and delivery of enterprise reporting and self-serviceanalytics solutions. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who canarchitect scalable Power BI solutions while managing and mentoring an offshorePower BI development team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise inPower BI, data modeling, DAX, SQL, and modern BI best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development ofenterprise-grade Power BI reporting solutions.
Drive the organization's Reporting andSelf-Service Reporting strategy and implementation.
Lead and coordinate an offshore Power BIdevelopment team, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and deliveryoversight.
Partner with business stakeholders to gatherreporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
Design intuitive dashboards, executivescorecards, and operational reports.
Build reusable semantic models and datasets thatenable self-service analytics.
Develop complex DAX calculations, KPIs, andbusiness metrics.
Optimize report performance, data models, andrefresh schedules.
Implement Power BI governance, security,workspace management, and deployment best practices.
Collaborate with data engineering teams toensure high-quality, reliable data pipelines.
Establish BI development standards,documentation, and release processes.
Support production issues and continuouslyimprove reporting capabilities.
Required Skills:
10 years of Business Intelligence and Reportingexperience.
10 years of hands-on Power BI developmentexperience.
Proven experience leading technical teams,including offshore delivery teams.
Strong expertise in:
o Power BI Desktop
o Power BI Service
o Power Query (M)
o DAX
o Data Modeling
o SQL
Experience designing enterprise reporting andself-service BI solutions.
Strong understanding of star schema anddimensional data modeling.
Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS)and Power BI governance.
Experience with Azure Data Factory, AzureSynapse, Azure SQL, or Azure Data Lake (Preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Preferred)
