owning platform health, understanding system dependencies, and doing things the right way.
What You'll Be DoingPlatform Operations & Stability- Maintain and support Nutanix clusters in daily operations
- Respond to hardware issues such as disk, DIMM, and drive failures
- Be available to physically visit data centers as needed, especially in the first 30 days
- Support platform stability during patching cycles, where maintenance may surface hardware or component issues
Patching & Lifecycle Management- Execute Nutanix patching across:
- Internet-connected environments
- Dark site (air-gapped) environments
- Perform limited VMware patching in a frozen, maintenance-only environment
- Ensure system uptime, compliance, and patch discipline
- Support long-term vSphere lifecycle milestones through October 2027
Dark Site / Air-Gapped Environment Work- Operate confidently in environments with no direct internet access
- Use IIS servers and internal repositories to stage and apply approved patches
- Spend time working across both public and dark site environments (roughly 50/50)
Change Management & Communication- Participate in structured change and maintenance processes
- Clearly communicate risk, plan, and outcomes to stakeholders
- Maintain documentation and follow established operational procedures within a regulated environment

- Nutanix Lifecycle Manager (LCM)
- Internet-connected and dark site upgrade workflows
- Coordinated upgrades for AOS, AHV, firmware, Prism, and ESXi
- Nutanix NCC health checks (pre- and post-patch)
VMware / vSphere Experience- vCenter Server administration
- Clusters, DRS, maintenance mode, host lifecycle
- vCenter Server patching and upgrades
- Baselines, version compatibility, validation
- ESXi host patching and upgrades
- Awareness of VMware-Nutanix compatibility across AOS versions and hardware generations
Additional Strengths- Understanding of hardware dependencies (UEFI vs legacy BIOS, node generations)
- Experience coordinating or supporting hardware repairs
- Comfortable following procedural documentation and test scripts
- Experience with control validation and post-upgrade review
- Strong organization and communication skills
Nice to Have- Experience in regulated or critical infrastructure environments
