Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineering Team Lead to guide a
team of talented engineers. This role involves setting technical direction, leading the design and
development of robust and scalable software solutions within Google's ecosystem, and
mentoring team members. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Java
(including Angular), a strong understanding of software architecture and system integrations,
extensive experience with Google's internal tech stack, and proven leadership abilities.
Experience with IWMS applications and real estate systems is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-quality software applications and
services using Google's tech stack.
Define and drive the technical roadmap and architectural vision for the team's projects.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering their
growth and development.
Champion and enforce software development best practices at Google, including coding
standards, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD.
Collaborate with product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements
and translate them into technical solutions.
Design and oversee the implementation of system integrations, ensuring seamless
connectivity and data flow.
Own key architectural and design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable,
and maintainable within the Google ecosystem.
Identify and remove technical roadblocks for the team.
Contribute to coding and development work as needed.
Promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the team.
Ensure the health and quality of the team's systems and services.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of Java/Angular FS and Integration development using Java.
Proven experience developing within Google's internal tech stack, including tools and
platforms such as: Piper, Cider, Boq, Google App Engine, Spanner, One Platform, ACX
Web.
Expert knowledge of Java and object-oriented design patterns.
Expert knowledge of Dependency Injection, with experience in Spring or Guice (Guice
preferred).
Proficiency with relational databases and noSql databases
Experience with front-end development using Angular.
Proven experience in designing and implementing system integrations (e.g., API-based,
message queues, ETL).
Expert knowledge of JUnit, Mockito, or other unit testing best practices.
Experience with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate.
Experience with Web development, including REST/SOAP web services development
and design principles.
Experience with source control (e.g., Git, Piper) and build technologies (e.g., Ant,
Maven, Blaze/Bazel
