Job Description
We are seeking a Java Developer Contractor to join our dynamic team supporting our client project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java services development, Spring Boot/Spring Framework, and RESTful API design and a proven ability to design, build, and troubleshoot production-grade services while guiding engineering decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java applications with high performance and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Conduct unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure functionality, reliability, and code quality.
- Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and coaching to drive engineering decisions to closure.
- Stay current with Java technologies and frameworks to recommend and implement secure-by-design improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of Java experience with service development and hands-on delivery.
- Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework, including Spring Security for authentication and authorization.
- Strong RESTful API design and development, including versioning, clear contracts, backward compatibility, and API documentation practices.
- Proven troubleshooting of production services and secure-by-design patterns.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- API governance and documentation tooling familiarity.
- Experience providing architecture review and feedback in Agile environments.
