Summary

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Agile Scrum Master with 5 to 7 years of Scrum experience to guide, coach, and support cross-functional software development teams. In this role, you will facilitate key Agile ceremonies, remove operational impediments, drive sustainable team velocity, and foster a transparent, high-performing environment.

Working closely with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and program stakeholders, you will ensure priorities are aligned, progress metrics are transparently communicated, and team Agile maturity continually advances.
Key Responsibilities
  • Agile & Scrum Facilitation: Facilitate core Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Retrospectives, and Sprint Demos. Guide teams on story writing, story splitting, story mapping, relative estimation, and release planning.
  • Coaching & Team Maturity: Assess and elevate the Agile/Scrum maturity of the team at a sustainable pace. Coach teams on self-organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Impediment Removal & Flow: Identify and remove internal/external blockers, enabling the team to maintain optimal delivery flow without assigning or dictating work.
  • Program & Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with Release Train Engineers and Product Owners to align team efforts with broader program objectives and ensure transparency across business units and vendors.
  • Metrics & Radiators: Manage, publish, and communicate team metrics, velocity, and status reports to radiate key information at the right time. Maintain accurate tracking within project tools (e.g., Rally).
  • Environment & Safety Standards: Maintain a safe, collaborative work environment and comply with organizational operational, environmental, and health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Technical Requirements
  • Experience: 5-7 years of overall Scrum experience, including at least 2 years in a dedicated Scrum Master role.
  • Software Development Knowledge: Core understanding of modern IT software development processes, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Agile Tooling: Hands-on experience maintaining Agile project management systems (e.g., Rally) to track team capacity, sprint health, and product backlogs.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to interface across cross-functional organizational lines, executive stakeholders, and external technology vendors.
Certifications & Education
  • Required Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM).
  • Preferred Certifications: SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), Certified SAFe Agilist (SA), Certified Product Owner (CSPO), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Soft Skills & Core Competencies
  • Excellent oral, written, and business presentation skills with the ability to build trust and navigate matrixed organizations.
  • Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
  • Analytical approach to team metrics, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized leader dedicated to empowering teams through servant leadership.
