Salary: $24, W2 hourly
Location: Onsite, South Denver, CO

Overview:
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Vendor Specialist with a strong focus on initial vendor setup and 1099 compliance to join our clients growing accounting team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate and compliant vendor records, supporting high-volume AP operations, and ensuring smooth communication across departments and with external vendors. If you're meticulous, adaptable, and confident navigating W-9s and 1099 reporting rules, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the initial vendor setup process, ensuring all information is collected, accurate, and complete.
- Review and validate vendor documentation, including W-9 forms, to determine 1099 reportability.
- Maintain and update vendor records in the accounting system with a broad understanding of vendor maintenance best practices.
- Collaborate closely with the AP team and other departments to support full-cycle accounts payable processing.
- Communicate with vendors primarily via email (and occasionally phone) to resolve setup questions and documentation issues.
- Apply knowledge of IRS guidelines related to 1099 reporting to ensure compliance throughout the vendor lifecycle.
- Support audit requests and internal reviews as needed.
Must-Haves:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in a high-volume AP department using an automated system.
- Understanding of 1099 reporting requirements and familiarity with W-9 documentation.
- Working knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
