Position Overview

We are seeking a senior Enterprise Data Architect with strong experience designing modern, cloud-native data platforms and enterprise data architecture. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Lakehouse architecture, Data Mesh, Data Products, Databricks, Azure/AWS data services, Snowflake, data integration, and enterprise data governance.

Industry experience is mandatory: Candidates must have experience in Energy, Oil & Gas, Commodity Trading, Utilities, or Capital Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead enterprise data architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps.
  • Design current-state and future-state data architecture across platforms, integrations, analytics, and reporting.
  • Architect scalable Lakehouse and cloud data platforms using Databricks, Azure and/or AWS data services.
  • Design data solutions supporting energy/commodity trading, risk management, scheduling, settlements, and market operations.
  • Architect integrations between trading platforms, ERP systems, operational applications, and analytical platforms.
  • Lead enterprise data modeling including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
  • Drive Data Product and Data Mesh architecture and domain-driven data strategies.
  • Establish architecture standards for master, reference, transactional, and analytical data.
  • Define data governance frameworks covering metadata, lineage, data quality, security, compliance, and stewardship.
  • Architect batch, micro-batch, real-time, streaming, and event-driven data integration patterns.
  • Review and approve ETL/ELT, data pipeline, integration, and cloud architecture designs.
  • Drive architecture governance, design reviews, technology standards, and reusable patterns.
  • Develop multi-year data architecture roadmaps and modernization strategies.
  • Lead architecture workshops and collaborate with engineering, product, business, and executive stakeholders.
  • Mentor architects, engineers, and technical leads.

Required Technical Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Enterprise Architecture.
  • Mandatory domain experience: Energy, Oil & Gas, Commodity Trading, Utilities, or Capital Markets.
  • Strong experience with Lakehouse Architecture and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Hands-on architecture experience with Databricks.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Data Platform Services and/or AWS Data Services.
  • Experience with Snowflake preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Data Mesh, Data Products, Domain-Driven Data Architecture, and enterprise data modeling.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT, data pipelines, APIs, streaming, event-driven architecture, and real-time data integration.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Experience establishing architecture governance boards, enterprise standards, reference architectures, and design review processes.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud architecture certification (Azure / AWS / Google Cloud Platform).
  • Databricks certification.
  • Experience leading large-scale cloud migration, data modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working with trading, risk, scheduling, settlements, or market data platforms.
