All roles: Remote (U.S.), ~6-month project, U.S. citizenship + ability to pass an SF-85 (Tier 1, Low-Risk) background check; no security clearance required; Eastern-hours availability; work performed from the candidate's own remote workspace (no routine on-site work).
Rate note: the lower figure in each range is the W-2 hourly rate; the higher figure is the 1099 / C2C rate. Post each role separately.
1) GIS Analyst — Boundary & Geospatial Production (Remote)
$53/hr (W-2) – $68/hr (1099/C2C) · ~6-month project · Remote (U.S.)
About the role: Serve as the lead producer of authoritative zone-boundary datasets — compiling, editing, and validating boundary polygons in ArcGIS Pro, integrated with an enterprise Esri environment.
Responsibilities: source-data review and harmonization (legal boundary descriptions and authoritative maritime/geospatial references); polygon production and geodatabase/attribute-schema implementation; topology validation; FGDC/ISO metadata and source-lineage documentation; publish/deliver in approved formats (file geodatabase, shapefile, GeoJSON, KML).
Required: 5+ years professional GIS including polygon production, geodatabase design, attribute-schema implementation, topology validation, metadata, source lineage, and Esri tools (ArcGIS Pro / Enterprise / Online). U.S. citizenship; able to pass an SF-85 (Tier 1) background check.
Preferred: Python/ArcPy, SQL, Arcade; enterprise geodatabase (SDE) administration; maritime/NOAA datasets; GISP.
Skills: ArcGIS Pro · Esri · Geodatabase · Topology · Metadata (FGDC/ISO) · Python/ArcPy · SQL · GIS Production
2) Cartographer — Maritime / Hydrographic (Remote)
$46/hr (W-2) – $59/hr (1099/C2C) · ~6-month project · Remote (U.S.)
About the role: Produce publication-ready cartographic representations of port/waterway zones and coastal features suitable for operational and public display.
Responsibilities: delineation and generalization of port, waterway, coastal, and maritime features; cartographic quality and symbology; prepare data/products for operational and public-facing display; support QA/validation and final delivery.
Required: 3+ years professional cartographic or hydrographic experience, including delineation and generalization of port, waterway, coastal, or maritime features, and preparation of data suitable for operational and public display. U.S. citizenship; able to pass an SF-85 (Tier 1) background check.
Preferred: nautical charts (ENC/RNC); NOAA hydrographic data; ArcGIS Pro cartography.
Skills: Cartography · Hydrography · ArcGIS Pro · Nautical Charts (ENC/RNC) · NOAA Data · Symbology · Map Production
3) Project Manager — Geospatial Data Production (Remote)
$58/hr (W-2) – $74/hr (1099/C2C) · ~6-month project · Remote (U.S.)
About the role: Lead a geospatial data-production effort producing authoritative zone-boundary datasets. Serve as single point of contact to the client, managing schedule, quality, and risk across a milestone-driven 6-month project.
Responsibilities: own the project schedule and deliverables (milestones at ~30/45/75/105/135 days); manage QC and risk; coordinate the GIS Analyst and Cartographer; interface with the client's technical representative; be reachable 0800–1700 ET and respond to technical issues within four business hours.
Required: 5+ years managing geospatial data-production projects of comparable complexity — schedule management, quality control, risk management, and enterprise stakeholder coordination. Excellent written/verbal communication (English). U.S. citizenship; able to pass an SF-85 (Tier 1) background check.
Preferred: PMP; familiarity with Esri/ArcGIS production workflows and FGDC/ISO metadata standards; NOAA/maritime program experience.
Skills: Project Management · Geospatial · Schedule Management · QA/QC · Risk Management · Esri/ArcGIS · Stakeholder Coordination · PMP
