Description

SAIC is seeking a Software/Application Engineer for a FULL REMOTE position to support a US Coast Guard project as part of the Air Force Modeling & Simulation (AFMS) program. (Target salary is $70-80k)

As a Software/Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a Learning Management System (LMS) that provides performant, stable access to a variety of trainings and associated systems. You will be expected to collaborate with a multitude of teams to achieve these ends, including cybersecurity, testing, and infrastructure teams, with an ultimate goal of seamless learning for end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions for the LMS.
Support both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom applications in order to maintain live playback, course completions, and training requirement synchronization.
Integrate internal and external APIs with a variety of USCG-affiliated stakeholders.
Collaborate with QA Engineers to ensure Verification and Validation, as well as system performance
Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software engineering, and application development to drive continuous innovation and improvement.

Qualifications

Proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript , and HTML /CSS, with experience with frameworks like Angular or React.js being a plus.
Experience with application development for Linux-based platforms.
Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Understanding o and willingness to work within an Agile framework
Must possess a Sec+ or another DoD 8570 compliant certification
Bachelor's and Zero (0) or relevant year of experience in lieu of degree

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
