Job Details

Wisconsin- The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting day-to-day project management, field operations and accounting teams across multiple construction projects. The role is critical for maintaining accurate and timely information and involves collaborative work from project initiation to completion.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and implementation of projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget through daily coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Project Managers on large-scale projects by managing documentation, tracking progress, and coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Independently manage small-scale commercial construction projects (typically under $1M) from preconstruction through closeout, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Attend site visits, conduct follow-ups, and develop Scope of Work documents for both large and small projects.
  • Participate in bid solicitation, estimating, and proposal development, including scoping and evaluating bids, performing takeoffs, and preparing scopes of work.
  • Coordinate and maintain project schedules, assist with tracking milestones, and generate regular status reports.
  • Prepare project invoicing under the direction of the Project Manager, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Review, consult, and respond to RFIs and submittals, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Generate and manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders, maintaining financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead or support project meetings with owners, architects, contractors, and internal teams; create agendas and document meeting outcomes.
  • Contribute to project closeout processes, including punch lists, warranty documentation, and final reporting.
  • Support value engineering efforts to optimize cost efficiency and project performance.
  • Perform Project Coordinator duties as assigned and may mentor or guide the work of Project Coordinators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Necessary Experience & Qualifications:
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a related degree.
  • Two years construction related work experience.
  • Familiarity with basic construction methods and software tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, PDF editing, and scheduling software.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills, fostering clear understanding and collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Motivated team player that exhibits adaptability and strong problem-solving capabilities, essential for navigating changing circumstances and challenges.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and multitasking abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Committed to fostering positive relationships by demonstrating accountable and constructive behaviors.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related degree.
  • Commercial construction field experience.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen.
  • Experience with specific software like Adobe/Bluebeam and Procore.

Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other Position Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must maintain client compliance requirements.
  • Must be available to work out of state, nights, weekends and/or extended hours based on project demands.
