AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking out next Software Developer / DevSecOps Support II!!
As a Software Developer II - DevSecOps Support on the NISSC 3 program, you will design, develop, test, and maintain software components supporting both cadence-managed and event-driven mission deliverables. In a secure, mission-critical environment, you'll apply secure coding and DevSecOps practices while helping lead integration and troubleshooting activities.
You will collaborate closely with systems engineering, test, and operations teams to implement new features, resolve defects, and execute software releases. You will also contribute technical inputs to incident reports, maintenance records, and user documentation to support operational readiness and compliance.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify, test, and maintain software components for cadence-managed and event-managed program deliverables.
Lead or perform software integration, troubleshooting, and defect resolution activities.
Apply secure coding practices in alignment with DevSecOps and cybersecurity requirements.
Use version control and configuration management tools to manage source code, branches, baselines, and releases.
Collaborate with systems engineering and test teams to implement new capabilities, address findings, and validate changes.
Document software releases, including changes, test results, and known issues, to ensure traceability and compliance with standards.
Provide technical input for incident reports, maintenance records, and user/operational documentation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development, integration, and DevSecOps processes, tools, and pipelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in one of the following (or closely related field): Information Technology (IT) / Cybersecurity / Computer Science (CS)/ Information Systems (IS) / Data Science / Software Engineering OR equivalent DoD/Military training and experience in software development or related discipline.
4-6 years of professional software development experience, preferably in a secure or mission-critical environment.
Strong skills in software design, development, modification, testing, and maintenance using modern languages and frameworks.
Demonstrated proficiency in software integration, troubleshooting, and secure coding practices.
Experience documenting software releases and providing technical input for reports and operational documentation.
Experience with tools such as:
ELMS, RTC, Jira, Confluence
ClearCase, ClearQuest
SQL or related database tools
Active Secret clearance at time of hire. Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI as required by the program.
One of the following is desired / strongly preferred:
- CSSLP
- GSEC

PAY TRANSPARENCY STATEMENT
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $94,400.00/Yr. - USD $156,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
