Senior SQL Data Migration Specialist for financial systems

Location: Melville NY and Great Neck NY

Hybrid 3 days per week onsite

Rate needs to be as competitive as possible

Local candidate highly preferred
Need to have 9 + years relevant experience

Role Summary: Design and lead data migration pipelines for enterprise Financial ERP transitions, with deep expertise in data profiling, multi-round extraction strategies, and cloud-based staging architecture.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop idempotent, round-based, stateful data migration solutions.
Design purpose-built migration staging databases including raw extraction, transformation output, migration control, dead letter, and versioned configuration table layers.
Profile, analyze CoA discrepancies between source and target systems.
Develop and review data migration plans and recommend improvements.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders for mapping rule review and sign-off.

Experience:

9+ years of experience in data migration, integration and orchestration using SSIS for ETL/ ELT processes.
Solid experience in building idempotent, auditable data migration systems.
Familiarity with reporting tools such as SSRS or Power BI.
4+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) + Azure Functions for Azure based data integration and ETL workloads and for custom ETL logic.
10+ years of experience with ER design, query optimization and SQL debugging.
Experience in ERP systems and financial domain preferred.

Skills:

SQL Server, Azure SQL
Maintain database solutions objects in Git.
